I went to the 9/11 Memorial today.  Whew, what a beautiful site they have created!  Every time I was in New York I just had to pass on going to the site, but I was ready and glad I went today.  I recommend a visit for everyone.  Very humbling to say the least.  Aso, so many small memorials out side the Memorial. that are so thought provking.

Well another great day of sightseeing!  I am showing you a picture today of a artist who creates installations using dishes.  This was large very large about 30 feet tall.  Don't you just marvel at the work others do!

Today was the best at the Museum of Art & Design in New York. Glasstress New York: New Art From The Vinice Biennales is not to be missed! I was in that building for about three hours and dreaded leaving as they always have the best and most exciting exhibits.  I will post pictures later as I am just beat today!

Great Chocolate Bobka today!

Finally, my challenge is finished.  Karen Musgrave put out a call for a challenge using this wonderful 50's fabric that I used in the Cafe Curtains.  I also used the reverse side of the fabric in the background. The idea behind the work is to highlight what advertisers suggested would be wonderful gifts for women for the holidays especially those that made her life easier. Really!
Well, what to say about that?  Love this challenge!

Also, no that is not Pat Nixon in the photo, some of you are just to funny and I get it!

Yesterday was the best day for me.  I went to see the Richard Serra "figure eights" at the Cantor Museum in Palo Alto, California.  What a wonderful site to see!  I could have stayed inside those walls all day. Yes, I could create a living space inside the "figure eights".

Ok, my fabric has arrived and I love it.  I have a stash of 30's to 60's fabrics so it is right for my creative spirit.  My problem is I create abstract and  social consciousness artworks so yes mine I have a feeling will say Bonnie J. Smith all over it!
Thank you for sending the fabric Karen and creating the challenge.

Karen Musgrave has a new book just out "Quilts In The Attic".  My copy has been ordered and I can not wait.  Like those who create dreams with needle and thread I love reading and learning others stories.  I ordered my copy from Amazon.com.

My friend Karen Musgrave has a wonderful indigo artwork she created this weekend on her blog.  Like Karen I am star struck by indigo, pictured above is a detail of a new work I created using rope and natural indigo. Pictured below is the artwork.
