Finally, my challenge is finished. Karen Musgrave put out a call for a challenge using this wonderful 50's fabric that I used in the Cafe Curtains. I also used the reverse side of the fabric in the background. The idea behind the work is to highlight what advertisers suggested would be wonderful gifts for women for the holidays especially those that made her life easier. Really!
Well, what to say about that? Love this challenge!
Also, no that is not Pat Nixon in the photo, some of you are just to funny and I get it!
How clever, Bonnie......This fab really had to be curtain material. I am nearly through with mine and will post soon. Good job--I particularly like the photos.

Thanks Martha, I just loved the fabric when I saw it. Imagine Karen had 15 yards of this fabric in her stash! We are lucky she sent us each some for the challenge as she could have sold it on ebay and made a bundle!

so much fun! the fabric reminds me of curtains; what a great way to really use the fabric in such a celebratory way. I'm using it as a motif, at least so far.
ReplyDeleteI saw the work as a back drop for a message. It just spoke to me and what happened just happened. Can't wait to see your finished work.

Well bummer. My comment on Monday must have gotten lost. I love this piece! Makes me smile and/or laugh every time I think about it. Hopefully one day I will get to see it in person. Thanks for taking part in the challenge! Hugs, Karen
